Troy S. Roberts

Troy S. Roberts, 51, of Sumner, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at his home in Sumner with his family by his side, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

A luncheon will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2018, at the American Legion in Sumner where the family will greet friends. Memorials may be directed to the family. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner is assisting Troy’s family. 

Troy Sammuel, son of Wade and Marion Jo (Amundson) Roberts was born May 21, 1967, in Cedar Falls. He was baptized in the Catholic Faith and graduated from North Cedar High School in 1985. Troy was united in marriage with Pam Brandt on September 12, 1987, at Blessed Sacrament in Waterloo. To this union three children were born, Allisa, Dennis, and Nicole. The family made their home in Waterloo, prior to moving to Sumner in 2002. Troy worked at I.B.P. in Waterloo, which later became Tyson, and Life Line Emergency Vehicles in Sumner. He was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes. Troy was a social person who was always able to put a smile on your face.

Troy is survived by his three children, Allisa (Eric) Rose, Dennis Roberts, and Nicole Roberts, all of Sumner, mother and father, Marion and Wade “Buzz” Roberts of Brooklyn, Iowa, five siblings, Tami (Roger) Strom of Cedar Falls, Tim Roberts of Brooklyn, Iowa, Jeff (Joy) Roberts of Hudson, Wisconsin, Mindy Mattke of Blaine, Minnesota, and Cindy (Scott) Wedan of Blaine, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Pam Jergens of Sumner.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and one uncle, Tom Amundson.
